Moonbox is a container for holding music and memories.
The landscape of the box is the spectogram of a piece of music (Fly me to the moon by Frank Sinatra). The soundwaves were extracted from the recording, and then scaled and wrapped around the 3D-volume. Each wave is one layer of laser-cut 6mm MDF, with a total of 60 layers glued together by hand. Each layer consists out of 4 strips; consecutive layers have staggered joints. The lyrics of the song are engraved on the bottom, and the title and author of the work on the lid. The invisible paws are 3D-printed in PLA.
